To Do list for spring:
- Remove any left over diseased or weak branches
- Begin weeding
- Re-seed bare lawn areas
- Prepare for tick season by clearing leaves, debris and tall grasses, specifically near wooded areas
- Prune early spring-flowering shrubs once flowers die
- Finish lawn fertilizing, if it was not done in fall
Shake Up Your Usual Plants & Flowers
Low-care, drought-tolerant plants are continuing to grow in popularity, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice color. These new hardy plants are just as vibrant and may replace delicate annuals.
Black-Eyed Susan – Sturdy stems and vibrant, saturated color. These are low-maintenance and love full sun. Plus, they’re a favorite of the pollinators.
Ornamental Grasses – Great supporting layer with other flowers. They need full to partial shade and are low maintenance, only needing to be cut back in late winter.
Yarrow – Native to all 50 states in yellow, pink, and more. They grow in clusters, which mixes well with sun-loving grasses and other perennials. They require very low care, are drought-tolerant, and just need to be cut back after flowering.
Upgrading Outdoor Lighting
The right lighting can transform living/dining spaces, walking paths, driveways and more, while also providing safety and security. For the best lighting, use a variety of lighting types. Contact our team to learn more and schedule an appointment to discuss budget and timing.
