The Festive Time of Year is Here!

In Container Gardening, Holiday Decorating, Lighting

At this point, you have probably decorated for the holidays and may want to make final additions or enhancements, so your property looks great. We are available to assist with any outdoor lighting and decorating needs, such as wreathes, garland for front doors and gates, as well as refreshing container plantings and window boxes. Also, take a look at a few tips for this month and check out ideas for a patio update.

As the colder weather sets in, here are a few December To Dos:

  • Once the ground freezes, mulch perennials and bulb planting beds to prevent plants from lifting out of the soil during freeze/thaws.
  • Continue to use burlap windbreaks for boxwood and broad-leaved evergreens until the ground freezes.
  • Avoid salt to melt snow since it is toxic to most plants; instead use sawdust, sand or cat litter.

Colorful Container Planting Ideas

As winter approaches, container plantings and window boxes are great options to brighten the landscape and home. A few plants that are hearty and will add color include winter berries, ornamental cabbage, and cyclamen. Contact us to schedule seasonal container planters, so your property will always look great.
