Overwatering and watering at the wrong time of day can increase your water bill and leave grass patchier and more vulnerable to disease. Take a look at these tips to keep your lawn looking great.

• Water less often but more deeply to promote strong roots and prevent wasteful watering and rotting.

• Water in the early-morning, if you have to use sprinklers. Keep grass about 3 to 4 inches tall.

• Choose a mix of drought-tolerant, warm and cool-season grasses since their dormancy periods can balance each other out, and your lawn will look great for any season.
