What’s the Best Way to Water?
Watering your yard might seem simple enough, but many people are actually doing it incorrectly without realizing it. Overwatering and watering at the wrong time of day can increase your water bill and leave grass patchier and more vulnerable to disease. Take a look at these tips to keep your lawn looking great.
- Water less often but more deeply to promote strong roots and prevent wasteful watering and rotting.
- Water in the early-morning, if you have to use sprinklers. Keep grass about 3 to 4 inches tall.
- Choose a mix of drought-tolerant, warm and cool-season grasses since their dormancy periods can balance each other out, and your lawn will look great for any season.
- Check your sprinkler system regularly. Our team can catch and clear clogged sprinkler heads, ensure the sprinklers are set at the correct angle and not missing large patches.
‘Tis the Season for Gardening
Since the warm weather has arrived, it’s time to get vegetables, and herbs in the ground. Take a look at our To Dos for the month:
- If you haven’t already, move tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants to the garden to ensure they have enough time to mature.
- Plant roots and greens such as radishes, kale, and beets in small batches.
- Plant herbs that love the heat and sun, such as basil, cilantro, rosemary, and thyme.
Don’t forget about container plantings! Our team can keep your property in full bloom all season. Reach out to learn more.
